Neighborhoods project

Thank you to Chelsea for modeling, Lauren for hair, Nicola for makeup and Swish for the wardrobe!

Nathan W.

One of my most recent portrait sessions...I promise I will eventually post more of my recent work!
Shooting Nathan was a breeze! We had great weather and decided to take advantage of it and shoot outside. I was really excited about the locations I chose and Nathan was so natural in front of the camera -gotta love that! It's always interesting to me, to meet someone (if we didn't have a chance to meet ahead of time) and then just jump right into shooting, but I was so impressed with Nathan's style and enthusiasm; he knew what kind of photos he wanted and I had a lot of fun helping him create them.

Neighborhoods

I was asked to participate in the new show going up at the Common.  Five female artists are being featured.  The theme is "neighborhoods," so each of us had to create a piece(s) inspired by this.  I had a pretty elaborate plan when I first decided what I wanted to do, however, I booked the shoot and the weather did not agree with me.  In the end, what I came up with is quite different from what I normally produce (I think anyway).  I will eventually post it here, but for now you will have to come down and check it out!  Tonight is the opening night, the show will be up for about a month.

The Common 10124 124 Street Northwest

Artists being featured include:
Alisha Schick -textiles
Ashley Champagne -photography
Christina Ignacio-Deines -painting
Cordelia Chan -illustration/ink
Erin Ignacio -graphic design
DJ for this evening: Lydia Tsang -($hortee)

Women with Vision- the Tomato

I always love working with Woman with Vision because they have such fun ideas! Lately the shoots we are doing are specifically for their ads in the Tomato, a local food magazine (previously City Palate). This was Brittany's concept and I don't think many other people could pull off looking that hot/cute eating/destroying a cupcake!

Magnowski family

I really looked forward to this family session because Jennifer was so excited and put so much effort into preparing for it!  With  the help of Tiffany Jackson's suggestions, Jen bought new clothes for herself and her family... she got her hair done at mousy brown's, her makeup done by Nicola Gavins... all of this, combined with how thrilled she was to do the session, had me pumped!  The day came and although it was colder and cloudier than we had hoped for, we walked away with some pretty beautiful shots if we do say so ourselves!

Justine & Jasmine

On one of the last nice days before the snow came, I shot these photos for Justine. She wanted to do this shoot for her birthday invitation. In this Peter Pan theme Justine's sister (Jasmine) played hook, while she played Peter Pan. ^These 2 photos are just some extras that I shot because the girls are so beautiful....

AND.....

Here's to never growing old!

Help-Portrait

This video is promoting the idea of photographing people in need, or who are less fortunate, people who would not normally have the opportunity to have their photo taken.  With digital cameras, the internet and the world of facebook, I think a lot of us take photographs for granted... I've been thinking about doing something like this for quite a while now.  It's really cool to see that there are a lot of other people with the same thought.  I'm not sure what scale it would be on, but I think on December 12 I would like to do something like this!

Frederik Robert

This was an amazing day spent with a ton of creative and talented people! Frederik Robert is a Vancouver based Opera Singer and Composer and he came to Edmonton to do this shoot... I was really flattered!!! The only thing I wish is that I could have heard him sing more. For some of the shots he would just sing, and it was incredible, I'm not sure if I told him that...
